(Manila, Philippines): On the afternoon of Tuesday, 11 February 2025, Her Excellency Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce and Chairperson of the Cambodia Competition Commission (CCC), and Mr. Michael G. Aguinaldo, Chairperson of the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC), formally exchanged the “Memorandum of Understanding between the CCC and PCC”. The ceremony took place under the esteemed witness of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Excellency Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, during the official visit of the Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Prime Minister to Manila, Republic of the Philippines.
The MoU establishes a framework for closer cooperation between the CCC and PCC, covering key areas such as information sharing on cross-border competition cases, notification of enforcement activities, coordination and cooperation on investigations and technical cooperation, including joint capacity-building programs for investigators under the Competition Law, etc. in line with the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I, Pentagon 3, Side 4: "Promotion of Competition" under the Royal Government of the Seventh Legislature of the National Assembly.
