News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Thursday, 28 May 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency KEM Sithan, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce and High Representative of Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, chaired the monthly meeting for May 2026, attended by the Ministry's leaders, including the Secretaries of State, Undersecretaries of State, Secretary General, Director General, Directors of Departments, Directors of Provincial Departments, and other officials. The monthly meeting was held at the Ministry of Commerce and via video conference, covering the following agenda: 1. Brief Report on the results of participation in the “Global Mediation Summit” and the “IOMed Seminar” in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China; 2. Brief Report on the Work Progress of the Department of International Relationships and Cooperation; 3. Brief Report on the Work Progress of the Department of Business Registration; 4. Brief Report on the Work Progress of the Commercial Attaché of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the United States of America; 5. Brief Report on the Work Progress of the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Department of Commerce; 6. Brief Report on the Work Progress of the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Commerce; 7. Comments and input from the MOC's leaders in charge of respective departments, and provincial departments of commerce, as well as other interventions.

News(Manila, Philippines): On 25–26 May 2026, Mr. Kann Viseth, Economic Attaché of the Permanent Mission of Cambodia to ASEAN, participated in the 5th Meeting of the Economic Officers of the Permanent Missions of ASEAN Member States to ASEAN (EOM) for 2026. The meeting was convened in both in-person and virtual formats under the rotating ASEAN Chairmanship of the Philippines, with the participation of senior officials from the ASEAN Secretariat. During the meeting, participants reviewed and discussed several key agenda items, including: 1. Reviewing and following up on the outcomes of the 4th EOM Meeting for 2026; 2. The 2026 Priority Work Plan on ASEAN Economic Community building; 3. Reviewing and endorsing reports from bodies chairmanship meetings under the purview of the ASEAN Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM); 4. Reviewing the progress of ASEAN’s economic and trade cooperation with key strategic partners, including ASEAN-European Union (EU), ASEAN-United States, ASEAN-United Kingdom, and ASEAN Plus Three (China-Japan-Korea); and 5. Reviewing and discussing the progress of Timor-Leste’s accession process to ASEAN economic agreements, as well as other related matters. The 5th EOM Meeting concluded successfully and finalized its outcome report for submission to the ASEAN Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM 2/57), scheduled to take place from 27 to 29 May 2026 in Manila, Philippines.
