News(Geneva, Switzerland): On Monday, October 20, 2025, at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, Her Excellency TEKRETH Kamrang,Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce delivered Cambodia’s National Statement during the General Debate Session of UNCTAD 16. This session provided an opportunity for Member States to present their views on the conference’s substantive issues through formal statements. In the statement, Her Excellency Secretary of State expressed Cambodia’s full support for the call torenew global commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in a world facing growing and complex challenges. Her Excellency Secretary of State further emphasized the importance of UNCTAD’s continued support for countries in the process of graduating from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, such as Cambodia, to ensure a smooth, sustainable, and resilient transition.
News(Geneva, Switzerland): On Monday, October 20, 2025, Her Excellency TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered the Statement of the Kingdom of Cambodia at the G77 and China Ministerial Meeting, held on the sidelines of UNCTAD 16 at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland. In the statement, Her Excellency Secretary of State expressed Cambodia’s strong support for the Ministerial Declaration of the Group of 77 and China, which reaffirms the Group’s solidarity and shared commitment to the principles of multilateralism, development, and cooperation. Additionally, Her Excellency also emphasized Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to the Group and to multilateralism,which has long served as a powerful and indispensable voice for the Global South. Her Excellency further underscored the utmost importance of peace as an absolute prerequisite for development and called for renewed peace, international solidarity, and collective commitment to ensure that no one and no place is left behind. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Group adopted a Ministerial Declaration outlining its position on the current global economic context, the state of the multilateral system, and its implications for developing countries.
News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Monday, 20 October 2024, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency SAM Sithisak, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, received a courtesy call meeting from Mr. Maxim Behar, First President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Chief Executive Officer of M3 Communications Group. On that occasion, His Excellency the Undersecretary of State warmly welcomed Mr. Maxim Behar to Cambodia and shared insights on Cambodia’s potential agricultural products, which present opportunities for the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce to explore export cooperation and investment in processing and packaging for the European market. Both sides also agreed to designate focal point officers to coordinate and strengthen cooperation in organizing trade promotion programs and business matchmaking activities via video conference to enhance and expand Cambodia’s exports.
News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Tuesday, 21 October 2025, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency PENN Sovicheat, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, presided over an inter-ministerial meeting to prepare for the 4th Session of the Cambodia–Türkiye Joint Economic Commission, which will be held on 3-4 November 2025, in Ankara, the Republic of Türkiye. The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant ministries and institutions. The aim of the meeting was to review the draftAgreed Minutes of the 4th Session of the Cambodia–Türkiye Joint Economic Commission, consisting of the following areas: trade, investment, customs cooperation, industry, science, technology and innovation, postal services, telecommunications and information and communication technology, halal, standardization, metrology, small and medium enterprises, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, water resources, biodiversity, transport, health, education, and tourism.
