(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Tuesday, 20 January 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency SAM Sithisak, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, received a courtesy call from Mr. LIANG Songshou, Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Economic Industry Research Association, and eight delegates. This discussion aims to strengthen and expand cooperation between the association and the Ministry of Commerce, as well as cooperation for future investments and business ventures in Cambodia, and seeking further cooperation opportunities. At the outset, His Excellency Undersecretary of State welcomed the delegation of the Federation and expressed appreciation for their interest in learning more about the opportunities and business and investment environment in Cambodia, and also provided an overview of key policies and strategies of the Royal Government of Cambodia, aimed at enhancing commercial activities and attracting more investments from various regions. In response, Mr. LIANG Songshou expressed his sincere thanks for this discussion and emphasized that Cambodia is a country with great potential for business and investment. He is very interested in exporting Cambodian rice and cassava to the Chinese market, especially in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao coastal region.

(Tokyo, Japan): On the afternoon of Wednesday, 21 January 2025, Mr. SIN Saray, Commercial Attaché to the Cambodian Embassy in Japan, accompanied His Excellency CHUM Sounry, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan, to meet and discuss with His Excellency Takahashi Fumiaki, President of the Japan–Cambodia Association (JCA) and former Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on further enhancing cooperation under the Cambodia–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, particularly on the promotion of trade and investment, tourism, academic and youth exchanges, cultural cooperation, dissemination of accurate information on Cambodia, and support for Cambodia’s socio-economic development. In addition, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to cooperate and support each other's initiatives related to promoting trade and investment, as well as to further strengthen friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between Cambodia and Japan.

(Phnom Penh): On Tuesday afternoon, 20 January 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, received a courtesy call from Dr. Tanu Priya, Deputy Head of Mission in charge of Trade and Politics, along with her delegation, to introduce her new role in the new mandate, and discuss a number of other matters aimed at promoting and strengthening bilateral relations and increasing the trade volume between Cambodia and India for further growth. The meeting discussed setting priority directions in strengthening bilateral relations between the private sectors of the two countries and integrating potential areas of cooperation, as well as government-to-government and private-to-private cooperation in trade and investment in the areas of agriculture, agro-industry and processing, pharmaceuticals, digital technology, science and technology, further opening bilateral and regional markets, especially the ASEAN market. In addition, both sides had in-depth discussions on existing bilateral and regional mechanisms to make their activities more effective and fruitful.
