News(Kandal): On the morning of Saturday, 11 April 2026, in Angk Snuol District, Kandal Province, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, presided over the grand opening ceremony of S.E.C. Mega Factory Co., Ltd., with the participation of senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce, company management and staff, the President of the Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC), leaders of relevant institutions, and numerous national and international distinguished guests. At the outset, Her Excellency Minister expressed her pleasure and extended her congratulations on the official inauguration of S.E.C. Mega Factory Co., Ltd., noting that the establishment will contribute to national economic growth, create employment opportunities, and improve the livelihoods of local communities. On this occasion, Her Excellency Minister expressed her appreciation to Mr. Raymond Chan, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, and all partners for their confidence in Cambodia’s investment environment, particularly their commitment to “green production” through investments in advanced wastewater management systems. Her Excellency Minister further noted that Cambodia’s industrial sector is undergoing continuous transformation—from traditional low value-added production toward advanced, technology-driven manufacturing (AI Smart Garment Factory) characterized by high value addition, sustainability, quality, and efficiency. She added that Cambodia is well prepared to graduate from its Least Developed Country (LDC) status toward becoming an upper-middle-income country, with continued efforts to encourage the private sector to strengthen compliance, enhance productivity, and develop skills in order to remain competitive in regional and global markets. In addition, Her Excellency Minister highlighted the Ministry of Commerce’s ongoing efforts to improve the business and investment environment, particularly through legal and regulatory reforms and public sector modernization aimed at strengthening investor confidence. In conclusion, Her Excellency Minister encouraged all business leaders and investors to continue investing and expanding their operations in Cambodia, and to fully leverage the opportunities provided by Cambodia’s existing trade agreements. News(Hanoi, Vietnam): On 6–7 April 2026, His Excellency LONG Kemvichet, Director General of the General Directorate of International Trade of the Ministry of Commerce, led a group of technical officials from the National Committee of Trade Remedies Secretariat on a study visit to Hanoi, Vietnam. The study visit aimed to exchange views and explore the procedures for the implementation of trade remedies by the competent authorities of Vietnam, as well as to examine the participation of the private sector and key stakeholders in legal proceedings. During the two-day visit, the group held meetings with five institutions, namely: the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV), the Vietnam Customs Department, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), GH Consults LLC (GHC) Law Firm, and the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
