News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Thursday, 3 September 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, receieved a courtesy call from a Delegation of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Cambodia (CCIFC), led by Mr. Julien Bert, Vice-President of the CCIFC, and Mr. Frantz Vaganay, President of the French Foreign Trade Advisors in Cambodia (CCEF), to discuss preparations for the Joint Organization of the 3rd Cambodia–France Business Forum 2026. During the discussion, both sides highlighted that this business forum will serve as a strong stepping stone towards promoting a mutually beneficial trade environment and strengthening confidence among businesses from both sides, and in particular, French businesses and international companies already operating in Cambodia or looking to explore the Cambodian market, and encouraging them to further examine the business attractiveness and opportunities that Cambodia has to offer. The forum will showcase Cambodia’s trade and investment climate, new laws and incentive policies introduced by the Royal Government, as well as the opening of key potential sectors such as technology, clean energy, agro-industry, infrastructure, and tourism. On this occasion, both sides also highlighted continued efforts to reinforce ties to deepen economic and trade cooperation, focusing on enhancing dialogue mechanisms between the Ministry of Commerce and the French business community.

News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Tuesday, 1st September 2026, at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, His Excellency LIM Lork Piseth, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a keynote address under the theme “A New Blue Ocean of Cross-Border Trade between China and Cambodia” at the China-ASEAN Entrepreneurs Summit, organized by the Cambodian National Federation of Trade and Investment Promotion Associations (CamTIPA). The summit was organized with the objective of promoting trade and investment cooperation between Cambodia, China, and ASEAN, while creating new opportunities for the private sector to expand markets, investment, and cross-border value-chain connectivity. On this occasion, His Excellency Secretary of State highlighted key potential sectors that Cambodia has been and continues to prioritize in order to promote economic diversification and strengthen competitiveness, including: 1. Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Industries, with a focus on electronics, automotive components, plastic products, and precision engineering; 2. Agro-Industry and Agro-Processing, with a focus on processing, packaging, storage, and the development of cold-chain systems to increase the added value of agricultural products and expand export capacity; and 3. Cross-Border Digital Economy and Logistics, with a focus on e-commerce, cross-border payments, financial technology, and the development of logistics hubs to facilitate the movement of goods and services more efficiently. In addition, His Excellency Secretary of State presided over the signing ceremony of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements related to cross-border trade projects between Cambodian companies and international business partners. These agreements demonstrated new momentum in cooperation across trade, investment, digital economy, and logistics sectors. Among the participating partners were Cambodia Securities Exchange partners, ZTO Express, Bank of China and other relevant business partners.

The weekly meeting was held at the Ministry of Commerce and via video conference, covering the following agenda: 1. Brief Report on the results of the National Product Campaign "#MadeInCambodia" 2. Brief report of the working progress of the General Directorate of Trade Services 3. Brief report of the working progress of the Department of Export Management in Special Economic Zones 4. Comments and input from the MOC's leaders in charge of respective departments and provincial departments of commerce, as well as other interventions.
