News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Wednesday, 18 February 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, and her colleagues held a consultation meeting with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Mission Team to discuss the implementation of policy actions under ADB’s technical assistance for Subprogram 3 of the Trade and Competitiveness Program. The discussions primarily centered on accelerating the development of new regulations for the implementation of three key commercial laws: the Law on Secured Transactions, the Law on Rules of Origin, and the Law on Trade Remedies. In addition, the meeting further discussed additional technical assistance needs and explored the possibilities for a new ADB support program after the completion of Subprogram 3, to ensure the sustainability of trade growth and Cambodia's competitiveness on the international stage.
News(Phnom Penh): In the afternoon of Tuesday, 17 February 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, H.E. Mr. KEM Sithan, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce and Chairman of the Committee on the Formulation of Cambodia Trade Policy Framework Towards 2030, chaired an internal meeting to monitor the progress of drafting the “Cambodia Trade Policy Framework Towards 2030” with the attendance of Excellency Secretaries of State, Under Secretaries of State, as well as representatives from relevant General Directorates and Departments. The meeting was organized to review and monitor the progress of the final draft, which has been revised following the consolidation of the latest technical inputs from relevant ministries, institutions, the private sector, and development partners. The meeting conducted a detailed review of the structure and content, providing additional inputs for each pillar to ensure that the policy framework remains consistent with national strategies and trade sector priorities in preparation for Cambodia’s graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status. As a result, the meeting reviewed, discussed, and provided key recommendations to finalize the comprehensive text and set out future work directions, with the aim of accelerating the finalization of this trade policy framework in the near future.
