News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Friday, 25 September 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, presided over the September 2026 monthly meeting of the Accelerating Inclusive Markets for Smallholders (AIMS) Project. The meeting was attended by the Project Management Office (PMO) leadership, directors of Provincial Departments of Commerce (PDoC), project officers, and focal points from all 18 target provinces. The meeting was organized to report on and monitor work progress, identify challenges, and propose solutions for the implementation of the AIMS Project in line with the 2026 Annual Work Plan and Budget. As a result, the AIMS Project teams across all 18 target provinces have executed their planned activities and established work directions for the upcoming month. During the meeting, key operational challenges were discussed and resolved to ensure the continued, effective, and successful implementation of the project.

At the outset, Her Excellency Minister extended a warm welcome and congratulated Her Excellency Raylene Siale Tagaloa Liufalani on her appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to the Kingdom of Cambodia. Her Excellency Minister also highly appreciated New Zealand’s support for human resource development through scholarship programmes, as well as the technical assistance provided to enhance the implementation of Free Trade Agreements, including RCEP and AANZFTA. During the meeting, both sides recalled the long-standing friendship and good cooperation between Cambodia and New Zealand, particularly in the area of trade, and also noted the growth in bilateral trade between the two countries. In this regard, both sides discussed opportunities to further promote trade and advance bilateral cooperation through the full and effective implementation of the various Free Trade Agreements to which both countries are Parties. At the same time, New Zealand side expressed its support for Cambodia’s application to accede to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
