(Hong Kong SAR, China): On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, His Excellency LIM Lork Piseth, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a keynote address at the “Global Business Summit.” The summit, themed “Chinese Enterprises Going Global,” was presided over by His Excellency Paul CHAN, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). As a premier annual regional event, the summit serves to share insights on the global economy, emerging market opportunities, and Hong Kong's role as a strategic gateway for Chinese businesses expanding internationally. In his address, His Excellency Secretary of State highlighted the robust Cambodia-China relationship, Cambodia’s competitive advantages, market diversification, and the opportunities arising from the country’s resilient and sustainable trade and investment policies. Following the summit, His Excellency the Secretary of State paid a courtesy call to His Excellency Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong S.A.R. The discussion centered on further strengthening and expanding trade cooperation between the two regions, the strategic advantage of leveraging Hong Kong’s strengths and regional proximity to China and the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to play a pivotal role as a “Super Connector,” aligning these strengths with Cambodia’s growing trade and investment opportunities. Furthermore, His Excellency Secretary of State held a productive meeting with Professor Frederick S. MA, the newly appointed Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). This meeting focused on a future cooperation framework to mobilize private sector delegations for major international events and business-matching programs.

(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Thursday, 29 January 2026, at PH Grand Hall in Phnom Penh, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia and His Excellency Dominic Williams, British Ambassador to Cambodia, co-chaired the 3rd Cambodia-UK Joint Trade and Investment Forum (JTIF) under the theme “Progressive Partnerships in a Shifting Global Landscape: A Cambodia–UK Perspective”. The forum was attended by representatives from relevant line ministries, chambers of commerce, associations, and private companies of both countries. The forum also featured two panel discussions, including: - Panel Discussion 1: Championing Business Stories—Turning Opportunity into Commercial Outcomes; focusing on addressing financial challenges, reducing business risks, and expanding businesses in high-potential sectors. Participants will gain insights into market requirements and the importance of partnerships that help drive tangible trade and investment outcomes. - Panel Discussion 2: Making Trade Happen: Addressing Barriers and Enablers; focusing on strategies to strengthen compliance standards in finance, trade, customs, and logistics, supported by a favorable business environment. The preparation of the exhibition was defined to showcase products and services of private companies from Cambodia and the United Kingdom. In addition, panel discussions were convened between government representatives and private sector stakeholders from both countries to review progress under the JTIF framework and to outline future directions for enhancing trade and investment cooperation, with particular emphasis on strengthening partnerships between the private sectors of the two countries.

They also highlighted ongoing efforts to implement the Action Plan under the framework of the Joint Trade and Investment Forum.

(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Wednesday, 28 January 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, led the 2026 monthly meeting of the Accelerating Inclusive Markets for Smallholders (AIMS) Project, with the participation of the Project Management Office (PMO) team, officers, and focal points from all 18 targeted Provincial Departments of Commerce. The purpose of the meeting was to report on and review project implementation progress, identify challenges, and propose solutions for the AIMS Project in line with the 2026 action plan and budget.
