News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Wednesday, 8 April 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency Phan Oun, Secretary General of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Commerce, presided over a dissemination workshop on the “Application Procedures for the Australia Awards Scholarships Intake 2027”. On that occasion, Mr. Michael Sadlon, Program Manager of the Australia Awards Scholarships, together with his colleagues, delivered a presentation on the benefits and key eligibility criteria for the application process. The scholarships are open to officials of the Ministry of Commerce, as well as those from other ministries, institutions, and the private sector in Cambodia. At the same time, His Excellency Secretary General expressed his sincere appreciation to the Government of Australia for its continued strong cooperation, particularly in contributing to human resource development in Cambodia.
News(Singapore): On Friday morning, April 10, 2026, in Singapore, Her Excellency Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Her Excellency Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and Environment and Minister in Charge of Trade Relations of the Republic of Singapore, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Food Security, marking another important step in strengthening trade relations between the two countries. The Memorandum of Cooperation demonstrates a shared commitment to ensuring the stability, transparency and efficiency of the food supply chain, paving the way for increased Cambodian rice exports to the Singapore market, and supporting Singapore’s strategy to secure a stable food supply, as well as creating opportunities for sustainable new markets for Cambodian agriculture. In addition, the Memorandum of Cooperation also highlights Cambodia's important role as a potential rice exporter through its strong capacity to produce, compete, and supply to international markets, especially Cambodia's active participation in ensuring regional and global food security.
News(Singapore): On the morning of Friday, 10 April 2026, in the Republic of Singapore, Her Excellency Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, met with Her Excellency Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister in Charge of Trade Relations of the Republic of Singapore. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the evolving situation of global trade, cooperation under the framework of the World Trade Organization, as well as strengthening and expanding Cambodia-Singapore trade cooperation in complementary sectors. On that occasion, the two sides also agreed to further promote cooperation in the field of food security, especially opportunities for exporting more agricultural products to the Singapore market.
