News(Singapore): On the morning of Thursday, 9 April 2026, at the Singapore Business Federation Center in Singapore, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, stated: “Cambodia is a strategic destination for Singaporean businesses seeking to expand their markets in the region, through the continued implementation of open trade policies, investment attraction, trade facilitation, export promotion, and modernization of the business environment.” Her Excellency Minister made these remarks while leading a Cambodian delegation to participate in a business seminar titled “Cambodia: Business Outlook 2026 and Unlocking Opportunities”, organized by the Singapore Business Federation in collaboration with Aquarii BD Cambodia. The event brought together Cambodian business representatives, Singaporean private sector representatives, members of the Singapore Business Federation, investors, entrepreneurs, and various partners. The purpose was to explore Cambodia’s economic potential and discuss opportunities for cooperation in priority sectors, including logistics and supply chain management, agro-industry and food processing, the digital economy, and high value-added industries. Her Excellency Minister added that the seminar contributed to advancing trade diplomacy, strengthening business networking, promoting exports, expanding international markets, and attracting new investments to Cambodia. It also created important opportunities for Cambodian businesses to showcase their production capabilities, find new partners, enhance trade cooperation, and expand access to the Singaporean and other international markets. Furthermore, the forum clearly demonstrated Cambodia’s commitment to building long-term business partnerships, increasing the value of Cambodian products, and deepening effective bilateral economic cooperation between Cambodia and Singapore. On that occasion, Her Excellency Minister also invited Singaporean investors and businesspeople to learn more about Cambodia and seize new opportunities in investment, trade, and partnership-building with Cambodian businesspeople through cooperation in complementary sectors.

During the meeting, both sides highly valued the positive progress in bilateral trade, which has shown notable growth. They also exchanged views on export opportunities with the aim of further promoting and expanding Cambodia–Singapore trade relations. In this regard, the Singaporean side expressed strong interest in increasing imports of food products from Cambodia. On that occasion, both sides also discussed the progress of negotiations on the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement, which is expected to boost the regional digital economy to USD 2 trillion by 2030.

During the event, both sides shared insights and engaged in in-depth discussions on the criteria, standards, and requirements for exporting Cambodian products to Singapore. The event also served as a key platform to promote and showcase Cambodian products internationally, aiming to increase product value, expand collaboration opportunities, and create sustainable export pathways.
