News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Tuesday, 3 March 2026, the Ministry of Commerce cooperated with the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to organize a consultative workshop on the "Draft Inter-Ministerial Prakas on the Implementation of the Code of Conduct for Intermediaries and E-Commerce Service Providers," co-chaired by Her Excellency Chea Ratha, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, and His Excellency Kong Phallack, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. The workshop was attended by leadership and technical officials from both ministries, as well as representatives from various associations, companies, and enterprises operating as e-commerce intermediaries and e-commerce service providers. The consultative workshop, held at the Ministry of Commerce, aimed to gather input, share experiences, and exchange constructive feedback from relevant operators on the draft Inter-Ministerial Prakas. The discussions focused on 5 fundamental principles: 1. Transparency and Integrity 2. Protection and Security of Users' Personal Data 3. Advertising 4. Intellectual Property Rights Protection 5. Dispute Resolution Mechanisms During the event, His Excellency Mam Amnot, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, also provided summary remarks and delivered the keynote closing address.

News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Wednesday, 4 March 2026, during the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2026, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, received a courtesy call from His Excellency Dr. KAO Kim Hourn, Secretary General of ASEAN, and delegation for a working discussion. During the meeting, both sides discussed several agenda items, including: (1) Priority Economic Deliverables under the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship in 2026; (2) the geo economic situation; (3) progress of negotiations on the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement; (4) support for the private sector to maximize benefits from various free trade agreements of which ASEAN is a party; and (5) preparations for the 32nd ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Retreat.

The discussion was moderated by Ms. Deborah Henry and featured distinguished speakers, including His Excellency SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), as well as representatives from the private sector, namely Denso International Asia Co., Ltd.; Maybank; and AirAsia (Malaysia). The panel discussion explored the impact of current geopolitical tensions on the manufacturing sector, while also examining opportunities for Cambodia to position itself as a key connector within a unified ASEAN production base.

During the open and constructive dialogue between the government and the private sector, the two sides discussed a range of topics, including trade facilitation; digital transformation; supply chain connectivity and value chain integration; market diversification through free trade agreement negotiations; trade policies toward 2030 and Cambodia’s graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status.
