News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Wednesday, 12 November 2025, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce and Chairperson of the Cambodia Competition Commission (CCC), and Mr. Samuel CHAN, Chairman of the Competition Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKCC) of the People’s Republic of China, presided over the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CCC and HKCC on the implementation of competition policy and law. The MoU establishes a formal framework for cooperation between the two commissions, focusing on information exchange, technical collaboration, and capacity building to enhance the effective implementation and enforcement of competition law in both jurisdictions. In her remarks, Her Excellency Minister highlighted the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual support among competition agencies, describing the MoU as a forward-looking and substantive commitment that strengthens institutional capacity and aligns with international best practices. Her Excellency Minister emphasized that no competition authority can succeed in isolation. Her Excellency Minister further added that the partnership will enhance coordination, promote consistency in enforcement, and help both institutions avoid overlapping actions in cross-border cases. Her Excellency also noted that competition plays a vital role in driving sustainable growth by fostering innovation, efficiency, and consumer welfare. Her Excellency Minister concluded by expressing confidence that this cooperation will serve as a strong foundation for lasting collaboration between Cambodia and Hong Kong, advancing fair competition and contributing to the broader global effort to promote open and transparent markets.
News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency BUON Sarakmony, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce received a courtesy call from delegations of 10 companies of the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) led by His Excellency TAKAHASHI Fumiaki, President of the JCA andformer Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, to discuss strengthening and expanding cooperation between the two countries in the agro-industrial, training, and digital sectors, as well as to listen to the strategic plan of the JCA 2025.

News(Phnom Penh): On Tuesday morning, 11 November 2025, at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), Her Excellency TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the High-Level Dialogue on the Joint Strategy on European Development Cooperation for Cambodia 2021–2027 and the Global Gateway Strategy. The meeting was co-chaired by His Excellency CHHIENG Yanara, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions and Second Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and H.E. Igor Driesmans, Ambassador of the European Union, with the participation of relevant inter-ministerial bodies, along with the delegation of the European Union to Cambodia and EU member states. The meeting aimed to review and discuss progress in implementing the Joint Strategy on European Development Cooperation for Cambodia 2021–2027 and the Global Gateway Strategy, to demonstrate the full partnership and strengthen the joint commitment between Cambodia and the European Union for sustainable development in Cambodia.
