News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Tuesday, 6 October 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, received a courtesy call from His Excellency Thamer Mohammed A. Algosaibi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, marking the commencement of his diplomatic mission. On that occasion, Her Excellency Minister outlined Cambodia's efforts to improve the business environment and facilitate private sector networking to foster a comprehensive understanding of investment and business opportunities in both countries. In response, His Excellency Ambassador inquired about procedures for initiating investments in Cambodia and expressed interest in participating in the Cambodia Trade Expo (CTExpo) and other related events. Both sides also pledged to effectively continue implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on promoting trade relations between the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia and the Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade, with the aim of further enhancing trade and economic cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairs, members, and Secretariat officials of the NCTR, alongside Secretaries of State, Under Secretaries of State, and relevant technical officials. The meeting was convened to review and evaluate the progress achieved by the NCTR, specifically the drafting and enhancement of legal instruments related to trade remedies to ensure implementation efficiency, as well as to discuss and exchange views on key priority directions for future work.
News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Monday, 5 October 2026, at Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, presided over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Wine, Spirit & Beer Importer Distributor Association (WSBIDA) and the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD) on the “Collaborative Initiative to Promote Responsible Retailing Standards.” The ceremony was attended by Mr. Julian Braithwaite, Chief Executive Officer of IARD; Mr. Tan Ser Chhay, President of WSBIDA; Mr. Mike Vongsykeo, Chief Operating Officer of S Liquor in Cambodia; senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce; and national and international guests. On the occasion, Her Excellency Minister congratulated both organizations on the initiative, which aims to strengthen responsible selling practices, enhance retailers’ understanding, and build staff capacity. Her Excellency Minister emphasized that the initiative aligns with Cambodia’s efforts to build a responsible marketplace, where commercial development advances alongside consumer protection and fair competition. Her Excellency Minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Commerce’s support for this partnership and continued dialogue with the private sector to ensure that business practices remain consistent with national regulations and policies. Her Excellency Minister also encouraged both organizations to translate their commitments into practical action to strengthen retailer capacity, protect consumers and build a fair competitive market.
