News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Monday, 28 September 2026, His Excellency Sok Sopheak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, presided over the opening of a specialized training course for government officials on the overview of the World Trade Organization (WTO), trade in goods, trade in services, and free trade agreement negotiations. This training course was delivered online, with the participation of officials from line ministries and institutions of Cambodia. The aforementioned training course was jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Advisory Centre on WTO Law (ACWL) to build and strengthen the capacity of relevant officials, particularly for enhancing their understanding of: (1) the general overview and fundamental principles of the WTO agreements; (2) free trade negotiations; and (3) the overview and implementation of trade remedy procedures. The training program consists of three sessions: two conducted via video conference (focusing on the WTO overview, trade in goods and services, and free trade negotiations) and one session held in person (focusing on fundamental principles, trade remedy implementation procedures, and the WTO dispute settlement mechanism).

News(Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia): On the morning of Friday, 25 September 2026, His Excellency Nam Lynal, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, led a Cambodian delegation to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Global Halal Summit 2026 (GHaS 2026) and the Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2026 (MIHAS 2026), held from 23 to 26 September 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. The official opening ceremony presided over by His Excellency YAB Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister I and Minister of Rural and Regional Development of Malaysia, representing His Excellency Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. The ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests, including government representatives, the diplomatic corps, investors, and business executives. MIHAS 2026 marks the 22nd edition of the international halal trade showcase, held under the theme "Shaping Trust, Driving Resilience." Organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) with support from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia (MITI), the event attracted approximately 50,000 visitors, international exhibitors and potential buyers from 58 countries, 13 international pavilions, 1,700 exhibiting companies, and 2,000 exhibition booths. During the mission, the Under Secretary of State also led the delegation to pay a courtesy call on YBhg. Dato’ Indera Abu Bakar Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of MATRADE, and met with private sector representatives to boost exports and expand the market presence of Cambodian products in Malaysia. Notably, the delegation inspected Cambodian "Phka Khei" milled rice (available in 1kg and 5kg packaging) retailed at KK Super Mart, located at the Menara KK Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. KK Super Mart currently operates over 1,000 retail outlets across Malaysia.
