News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Tuesday, 17 March 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, Her Excellency TAN Tepikanika, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the Workshop on the Benefits of Good Regulatory Practice (GRP): Results from the Pilot Project on Battery Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Cambodia, arranged by the Council of Jurists of the Office of the Council of Ministers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). This workshop was attended by other secretaries of state, undersecretaries of state, and other representatives from relevant ministries and institutions.
News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Tuesday, 17 March 2026, at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), His Excellency BUN Chanthy, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, attended as a speaker to present on business opportunities in Cambodia at a business forum with 19 enterprises from the Republic of Austria. The event was presided over by His Excellency SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the CDC, and Mr. Andreas Sumper, Deputy Head of Mission of the Austrian Embassy in Cambodia. Approximately 60 participants attended, including representatives from ministries, public institutions, and private sector entities from both sides. On that occasion, representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries also delivered presentations in their respective sectors. In addition, the Austrian companies in attendance were involved in sectors such as healthcare, energy, sports, hospitality, construction, banking, and railway infrastructure. Regarding business opportunities in Cambodia, the Secretary of State highlighted Cambodia’s trade integration at both regional and global levels, bilateral trade cooperation between Cambodia and Austria, trade promotion policies, and trade facilitation efforts.
News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Tuesday, 17 March 2026, His Excellency Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce and Lead of the Working Group on Trade and Investment for Cambodia, led technical officials attending the Annual Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). The meeting was held with participants from relevant ministries and stakeholders, aiming to review the progress of cross-sectors such as agriculture, transport, trade and investment, tourism, and environment; update the work progress of the GMS Regional Investment Framework 2026-2028; and develop capacity building for the GMS Program.

News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency SAMHENG Bora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, received a courtesy call from a delegation of the Malaysian Business Chamber in Cambodia (MBCC). The delegation was led by Oknha Tan Khee Meng, President of MBCC, and included Mr. Chia Seong Pow, representative of QL Resources Berhad. The meeting was also attended by Excellencies Under Secretaries of State, representatives from relevant Directorates-General, and technical officials from the Ministry of Commerce. During the discussion, the representative of QL Resources Berhad expressed strong interest in establishing a trading company in Cambodia to procure and export dried corn to the Malaysian market, and outlined its objective to invest in Modern Integrated Poultry Farming, utilizing high-tech industrial standards to strengthen production capacity. In response, His Excellency Secretary of State expressed full support and the Ministry's readiness to facilitate the company’s trade and investment projects and the establishment of the trading company, and encouraged and promoted further exploration of Cambodia’s potential products, particularly the export of cashew nuts for distribution in Malaysia’s market.
