News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Wednesday, 9 September 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, presided over the first semester review meeting and strategic directions for the second semester of 2026 of the directorate-general of international trade. The meeting was attended by Excellencies Secretaries of State and Under Secretaries of State in charge, the Director-General, Deputy Directors-General, Directors and relevant officials. The meeting aimed to review, evaluate, and further advance the implementation of the core functions and priorities of the Directorate-General of International Trade, particularly related to regional economic and trade integration, as well as the strengthening of bilateral cooperation with countries across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, and other regions.
News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Friday, 4 September 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency OUM Kosal, Undersecretary of State and Chair of the Secretariat of the Inter-Ministerial Technical Working Group, presided over the First Meeting of the Secretariat of the Inter-Ministerial Technical Working Group to prepare the draft National Cassava Policy – Phase II. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Vice Chair, members of the Secretariat working group, and development partners, including UNDP, FAO, UNIDO, HEKS, and CIRD. This meeting was convened to review, discuss, and provide input on two key aspects: (1) the preparation process for the draft National Policy; and (2) the research methodology and timeline for its development. It is worth noting that the preparation of the draft National Cassava Policy – Phase II is led by the Ministry of Commerce, with support and participation from relevant inter-ministerial institutions and stakeholders. Additionally, the process is supported by technical assistance from the United Nations Development Programme in Cambodia (UNDP Cambodia).

News(Guangzhou, China): On the afternoon of 4 September 2026, Mr. LAO NGUON ENG, Trade Attaché attached to the Royal Consulate General of Cambodia in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, the People’s Republic of China, representing the Consul General, met with Mr. Luo Junbo, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, and his delegation at the Royal Consulate General of Cambodia in Guangzhou. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Jieyang City and Cambodia in culture, tourism, trade, and investment. Additionally, the Foreign Affairs Office of Jieyang City extended an invitation to the Royal Consulate General of Cambodia in Guangzhou to participate in a cultural, tourism, trade, investment, and economic forum scheduled to take place in Jieyang City in October 2026.
News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Friday, 4 September 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, presided over the wrap-up meeting on the implementation of Sub-Component 2.2: "Strategic Capacity Building on Trade Facilitation and Regional Integration" under the Cambodia Regional Connectivity Improvement Project, Phase I (CRCI Phase I), financed through a concessional loan from the World Bank. The meeting was attended by the Working Group for Sub-Component 2.2 and the World Bank Mission Team. During the meeting, both sides reviewed the outcomes of the technical consultations conducted from 1 to 4 September 2026 on the preparation of priority action plans for the implementation of Sub-Component 2.2. The consultations aimed to strengthen the framework for cross-border trade cooperation, develop agribusiness value chains, and solidify the foundations of the digital trade ecosystem.
