News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Wednesday, 22 October 2025, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency SAMHENG Bora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, received a courtesy call meeting from Mr.Kohei WAKABAYASHI, Chief Representative of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), discussed the cooperation on the Agricultural Export Promotion Project to the Japanese market or overseas markets within their network. On this occasion, both parties had discussions on the agricultural export situation related to Cashew Nuts, Cassava, Bananas, and Mangoes.introduced the agricultural community/association of the above agricultural products, relevant laws and regulations for implementing agricultural product processing and export procedures, and the preparation of a trade mission, in which JETRO will be bringing agriculture-related companies from Japan to Cambodia around March 2026.
News(Geneva, Switzerland): On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Her Excellency TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, accompanied His Excellency Professor Bundit Sapheacha Dr. SOK Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions (Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs) and Chairman of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB), to a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of World Trade Organization (WTO) at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The discussion focused on LDC trade preferences and market diversification. In the meantime, Her Excellency WTO Director-General compared the situation when she first visited Cambodia—which was tense and divided—with the current situation, where Cambodia is now very prosperous. Her Excellency also praised the country’s economic development, attraction of foreign direct investment, poverty reduction toward realizing the LDC graduation, and economic transformation that has created many jobs for the next generation of Cambodians.
