News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Friday, 14 November 2025, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, led senior officials and officials of the Ministry of Commerce to participate in the National Forum on Women in Leadership and Governance 2025, under the theme "Women and Girls' Leadership for All." The forum was organized by the Ministry of Women's Affairs, with many participants attending both in-person and via video conference. The 4th National Forum in 2025, held under the theme "Women and Girls' Leadership for All," was organized with the objective of highlighting the importance and value of promoting women and girls' leadership, focusing on the process of training and developing leadership capabilities from a young age. This requires the active participation of all stakeholders in society, including girls and women themselves, guardians, families, schools, communities, and relevant institutions. It is also worth mentioning that this 4th National Forum is a campaign to promote specific and broader implementation to enhance recognition, increase investment, and celebrate the development of the leadership potential of every woman and girl from everywhere. Key activities organized within the forum included a high-level dialogue among women leaders and relevant partners, a platform for sharing experiences in the form of side events, an exhibition of achievements, products, and work accomplishments, and the presentation of commitments from key stakeholders.
News(Vienna, Austria): On the afternoon of Wednesday, 12 November 2025, His Excellency SUON Prasith, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the World Trade Organization and other international organizations (Economy and Trade) in Geneva, participated in and delivered a statement during the EU-UNIDO partnership: IET/AGR spotlight program on CAPFISH-Capture: Post-harvest Fisheries Development Project, which is jointly implemented by the Cambodian Fisheries Administration (FiA) and UNIDO and co-financed by the European Union. The event was held at the UNIDO headquarters and attended by H.E. Mr. Gerd MÜLLER, Director General, UNIDO; H.E. Mr. Carl Christian HALLERGÅRD, Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the International Organisations in Vienna, Mr. SUOS Imsouchivy, Counsellor of the Permanent Mission, and many other Ambassadors and esteemed representatives of permanent missions to UNIDO, project management staff, and other international delegates. On that occasion, His Excellency Ambassador highlighted the impactful and long-standing partnership between UNIDO and the European Union in supporting Cambodia. This partnership has been exemplified through the CAPFish-Capture project, a flagship initiative of the Programme for Country Partnership (PCP 2018-2023), which supports the development of the country’s post-harvest fisheries sector, a cornerstone of the Cambodian economy, food security, and rural livelihoods. The project has been actively addressing many challenges in the fisheries sector by strengthening the entire post-harvest value chain, enhancing food processing safety and standards, while also empowering women entrepreneurs and small-scale producers, distributors, and retailers, who are key actors in the fisheries value chain. This project will officially conclude in December this year. His Excellency Director General MÜLLER and His Excellency Ambassador HALLERGÅRD jointly congratulated Cambodia on their successful implementation of this significant project, thanks to the excellent collaboration between the Cambodian Fisheries Administration and UNIDO representatives, as well as the relentless effort of the CAPFISH-Capture project officials and various development partners and the private sector, who have jointly contributed to this remarkable achievement in strengthening the entire post-harvest value chain in the fisheries sector in Cambodia. Lastly, His Excellency Ambassador SUON Prasith reaffirmed Cambodia’s strong commitment to this important partnership, as this project will continue to inspire further joint efforts to promote economic resilience, uphold the principles of sustainability, and ultimately raise the standard of living for our people.
News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Friday, 14 November 2025, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency LONG Kemvichet, Director-General of the General Department of International Trade, led an inter-ministerial meeting in preparation for the 16th ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement Trade Negotiating Committee (16th ACAFTA TNC) Meeting, scheduled for November 24–28, 2025, in Manila, Philippines. The meeting was conducted to review and discuss: (1) the progress of the participating working groups' negotiations; (2) working groups' pending issues; (3) current solutions/proposals under discussion; and (4) Cambodia's positions on the pending issues for the upcoming 16th ACAFTA TNC meeting.
