News(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Thursday, 2 April 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency LONG Kemvichet, Director General of the General Directorate of International Trade, led technical officials of the Ministry of Commerce to meet with Mr. Deodat Maharaj, Managing Director of the United Nations Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries, to discuss cooperation and initiatives aimed at improving access to technology to strengthen Cambodia’s trade sector. The discussion also focused on cooperation in the fields of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) as well as initiatives aiming to strengthen digital trade, enhance the capacity of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and promote inclusive participation in the digital economy.
News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Friday, 3 April 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency CHEA Ratha, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, presided over the opening ceremony of a training workshop on “Digitalization and Export through the Cambodia Trade Platform (CambodiaTrade.com).” The program is organized under the Digital Capacity Building Project of the CBRD Fund, with the distinguished participation of Excellencies, Under Secretary of State, senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce, all Departments of Commerce, as well as representatives of the Investor Federation Association of Cambodia, traders, producers, and domestic manufacturing enterprises. The training aims to enhance the capacity of traders, entrepreneurs, and business operators in digital commerce, while supporting their efforts to expand exports of Cambodian products to international markets. It also seeks to elevate the profile and competitiveness of Cambodian products on the global stage. Beyond strengthening digital technical competencies, this initiative represents a key strategic effort to promote the global presence of #MadeInCambodia and #MadeByHer products through the CambodiaTrade.com e-commerce platform.
News(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Tuesday, 31 March 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, Her Excellency TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, led the Inter-Ministerial meeting to review the updated report on “Cambodia's National Readiness Assessment on Cross-Border Paperless Trade,” with the participation of leaders and relevant technical officials. On that occasion, Her Excellency Secretary of State emphasized that this report will serve as a vital strategic foundation for advancing the ratification process of the Framework Agreement, which will act as a key driver in modernizing Cambodia’s trade system, enhancing efficiency and transparency, while significantly reducing the costs of cross-border trade operations. Her Excellency the Secretary of State continued that this assessment, a technical assistance supported by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), aims to assess the challenges and opportunities arising from the ratification of this agreement, reflecting Cambodia's progress in digital trade facilitation and evaluating its readiness to implement the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (CPTA), which Cambodia signed in 2017.
